How to Renew Your Oklahoma Plumber License

When to renew

Step by step

1. 1

   Confirm your license class and renewal date

   Oklahoma sets plumbers requirements by license class (plumbing journeyman, plumbing contractor). Check the class printed on your license, then note your renewal date — renewals run the schedule your board assigns to your license.

   Complete 6 hours of board-approved continuing education

   Oklahoma Construction Industries Board (Plumbing Examiners Committee) requires 6 hours every 3 years, including Codes and revisions adopted by the OUBCC and/or other Committee-approved trade subjects (licensing Act, OAC 158:30, 158:10, manufacturer installation, safety). Do not leave it for the last week — completions must be on file before the deadline.

   Save your certificate of completion

   Download the certificate the moment you finish and keep it with your license records.

   Make sure your hours reach the board

   In Oklahoma, a completion report is mailed to the board.

   Renew with Oklahoma Construction Industries Board (Plumbing Examiners Committee)

   Submit your renewal and pay the renewal fee before the deadline. This renewal also requires passing an exam. A late renewal usually means a late fee, and a lapsed license can mean re-applying from scratch.
