When to renew

Florida insurance agents licenses renew every 2 years, on the schedule your board assigns to your license. Continuing education must be complete before you submit the renewal. (Fla. Stat. §626.2815(3); Fla. Admin. Code R. 69B-228)

The continuing education Florida requires

Florida Department of Financial Services, Division of Insurance Agent and Agency Services requires 24 hours of approved continuing education every 2 years. The hours must cover these topics:

  • Elective credits — at least 20 hours
  • Ethics, Rules or Compliance — at least 3 hours
  • Standard — at least 7 hours
