When to renew

Minnesota real estate agents licenses renew every 2 years, on the schedule your board assigns to your license. Continuing education must be complete before you submit the renewal. The continuing education Minnesota requires

Minnesota Department of Commerce requires 30 hours of approved continuing education every 2 years. The hours must cover these topics:

  • Agency representation and disclosure — at least 1 hour
  • Fair housing / antidiscrimination — at least 1 hour
  • Commissioner's required general module — at least 225 minutes
  • Broker module — at least 1 hour
  • Annual required module (3.75 or 7.5 hrs, set yearly by commissioner)
  • At least 15 of 30 hours in first 12 months of period
